About
Surrounded by Ravenna's rich cultural heritage (UNESCO lists eight of Ravenna's early Christian monuments as World Heritage Sites), Koko Mosaico continues to explore the language of mosaic yet never loses sight of past traditions. The studio is like an atelier from times past where one can buy and/or commission mosaics.
Team
The team is made up of Luca Barberini, Arianna Gallo and the assistants Anita Pilotti, Dalia Atef Mohamed Mahmoud Elrashidy and Ivana Divković.
Arianna Gallo
I was born near Ravenna on September 2, 1976. I graduated from the Mosaic Institute of Art ‘Gino Severini’ in 1995, and from the School of Mosaic Restoration (Soprintendenza of Cultural Heritage of Ravenna) in 1999. In 2005, my husband and I opened Koko Mosaico. I like to think of our laboratory as an open studio, full of light and international in character: a space where ideas become reality. At Koko Mosaico I take care of the commissions and the artistic collaborations in addition to teaching mosaic techniques.
I love my work.
I was born in Ravenna on August 21st, 1981.
I graduated from the Mosaic Institute of Art Gino Severini in 2000; subsequently I attended professional courses and worked at a number of the mosaic studios in Ravenna.
In 2005, together with my wife, Arianna Gallo, I opened Koko Mosaico.
I'm a visual artist and I like expressing myself through my unique mosaic style and technique.
At Koko Mosaico I am responsible for the production of mosaics and managing the business.
Anita Pilotti
Master Mosaicist, specialised in portrait mosaics and assistant to Arianna Gallo
Anita studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna and earned her Master Mosaicist diploma from the Mosaic School of Friuli in Spilimbergo.
Since 2019, she has been part of the Koko Mosaico team, working alongside Arianna Gallo in the creation of the studio’s artworks.
Meticulous, precise, and deeply committed to excellence.
Passionate about Japan, like Arianna, she finds inspiration in discipline and harmony, which are reflected in her approach to mosaics.
Her patience and reserved nature make her an invaluable presence in the studio, where she carefully follows private commissions and shares her expertise through portrait mosaic teaching.
She speaks Italian and English.
Assistant and Instructor for Short Courses
Dalia has been part of the Koko Mosaico team since 2024 and is responsible for guided tours of the atelier and short courses, where she leads students through the two-hour, half-day, and full-day workshops.
Her enthusiasm and ability to engage with people make every experience unique and enjoyable.
She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna and has a deep passion for micro-mosaic.
In fact, she has her own line of jewellery crafted using this technique.
In addition to teaching, she assists Arianna in the creation of mosaics.
She speaks Italian, English, and Arabic.
Ivana Divković
Executive Assistant and Client & Collector Relations
With a background in tourism and hospitality and a deep passion for history and art, Ivana has been part of Koko Mosaico since 2017. Executive Assistant of Arianna and Luca, she manages client support and organization of activities, ensuring timely responses and guiding everyone who comes into contact with the atelier through a well-organized and enjoyable experience.
She studied at the Technical Institute for Commerce and Foreign Language Correspondence in Ravenna and is continuing her academic path in Cultural Heritage.
Meticulous and detail-oriented, she enjoys working with precision and making sure every aspect of her work is handled with care.
She speaks Italian, English, French, and Serbian-Croatian.
