Checkerboard pattern

Handcrafted by Koko Mosaico using the Ravenna technique, with the direct method on lime.

The base is made of wood, and the mosaic is composed of fine marble tesserae, hand-cut using the traditional tools of the trade: the hammer (martellina) and hardie (tagliolo).

The frame is artisanally made using marble powder mixed with cement mortar.

The mosaic has been grouted and hand-polished.

It features a simple yet striking ancient geometric pattern.
