Roman geometrical mosaic of San Vitale

Handmade by Koko Mosaico, Ravenna's techique, direct method on lime. 

Wooden base, precious marble tesserae cut by hand with the ancient tools, the hammer and the hardie. 

Handmade frame created by with cement mortar painted with acrylics.

The mosaic is perfectly grouted and has been smoothed by hand.

The artwork represents a detail taken from the orginal mosaic floor of San Vitale, Ravenna.
