Direct technique on cement mortar

Base in aerolam, cement mortar, smalti, stained glass, and gold tesserae.

The enamels and gold tesserae are from Fornace Orsoni, the last historic furnace in Venice, which has been using the same methods since 1888 to produce mosaics with 24-carat gold leaf, colored gold, and Venetian enamels.

In this particular Landscape 01, the Mausoleum of Theodoric and the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia are representing.
