Wooden frame, cement mortar, smalti tesserae cut by hand with the use of the ancient mosaic tools, hammer and hardie.

Smalti from Orsoni, the historical Venetian furnace that uses the same techniques since 1888 to produce 24K gold leaf mosaics, colored gold and Venetian smalti.

This flower is represented in the majestic apsidal conch of Sant'Apollinare in Classe, which portrays a wood which is no longer there and that used to surround the basilica; a large green space popolated by trees and animals.
