From Anime exhibition, Conan by Arianna Gallo, tribute in mosaic to Hayao Miyazaki, Studio Ghibli. 

Event organised during Ottobre Giapponese Festival 2015, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Koko Mosaico.

Direct technique on cement mortar.

Wooden base, handmade wooden frame, coloured and painted cement mortar, lead for the outlines of the figure, marble and smalti tesserae cut by hand with the ancient tools, the hammer and the hardie.

Smalti from Orsoni, the historical Venetian furnace that uses the same techniques since 1888 to produce 24K gold leaf mosaics, colored gold and Venetian smalti.
