Hand made by Koko Mosaico, Ravenna's technique, diret method on temporary glue, honeycomb panel, precious marble tesserae cut by hand with the ancient tools, the hammer and the hardie.

Perfectly finished, grouted and smoothed, the mosaic represents the pair of horses depicted in the marvelous floor mosaic of the Grand Palace Mosaic Museum (in Turkish Büyük Saray Mozaikleri Müzesi) in Istanbul, near the Blue Mosque.

The museum houses a large complex of mosaics probably dating back to the early sixth century, an important surviving testimony of the splendours of the "Grand Palace", the imperial palace of Constantinople.
